Description
Decades of data logging experience and innovation come together in the remarkable Model 245. The result is a versatile, cost-effective, highly reliable data acquisition instrument to satisfy the measuring, display, alarms monitoring, and recording requirements of industrial, process, and laboratory applications. The 245 is capable of measuring up to 500 analog inputs and features high, 16-bit resolution. It will directly accommodate a wide range of sensor inputs including thermocouples, RTDs, DC millivolts and volts, common 4-20mA current loops, and resistances. This instrument is so easy to operate and set up that you can be measuring and taking data almost as soon as it is out of the box. Its reliability is unmatched. And, with its modular, flexible design, the 245 system can easily be expanded as your needs grow. The 245 is your data acquisition solution whether your application is bench mounted in a lab or on a portable test cart, rack mounted as part of a computer control system or test stand, or panel mounted on an instrumentation board. Model 245 features four output options for measured data and conditions reporting. The front-panel digital LEDs, the built-in 12-column thermal printer, and two serial, RS232C I/O ports can be used to display, acquire, and record data. Each of these can be used independent of one another (e.g.,the LEDs can display channel values while the alarm conditions are being printed on the printer and a timed-log is being sent over a serial port communicating with a PC). The following jobs/tasks can be programmed to process simultaneously, with 10 of these being timed-interval logs. This provides plenty of processing capability for even the most complex system requirements.

Serial I/O Communications
Dual, fully programmable RS-232C ports are standard with the 245. Each can be independently configured and optimized for external communications to peripherals, printers, modems, PCs, and mini/micro/mainframe computers. Formatting and protocol capabilities are user set via the front panel or I/O ports.
Designed for Long-Term reliability
DORIC understands the needs for reliable operation, day after day and test after test. We also know the industrial conditions under which these instruments must operate. DORIC’s Model 245 is designed for highly reliable operation. Key features for reliability include box-within-a-box packaging design to assure mechanical integrity and attenuate the effects of RFI, EMI, and electrostatic discharge. Coated PC boards are used to maximize environmental protection. Online diagnostics monitor the validity of instructions and address codes. Hardware watchdog circuitry and software assure proper operation and resetting of the instrument when fault interrupts occur. In addition, the RAM storing the critical program routines, calibration constants, alarm values, etc. is double protected: a battery back-up protects from power loss for more than 30 days while software interlocks and watchdogs protect against overwrites during transient or faulty conditions.
Start acquiring data with Model 245 Today!
For a full feature set, high accuracy, lowest installed cost, and ease of use in a data acquisition system, select Model 245. Its superior long-term reliability coupled with flexible, field expandability at any time, makes the Model 245 the right choice for today and tomorrow.
