Our latest
generation of humidity probes and
instruments is based on the AirChip
3000 technology.
The AirChip 3000 (shown here mounted
on a small PCB) consists of an ASIC
(Application Specific Integrated
Circuit), a microcontroller and a
memory (EPROM), all in a single
chip. This gives the AirChip 3000
the functionality of a small
specialized computer.
The basic function of the AirChip
3000 is to accurately condition and
process the signals from two
external sensors: a humidity sensor
and a temperature sensor, and to
provide both digital and analog
output signals. Superior accuracy is
achieved by using over 30,000
reference points for the
linearization and temperature
compensation of the RH sensor and by
using a 4th degree polynomial,
conform to IEC / ASTM standards, for
the linearization of the Pt100 RTD
temperature sensor.
The AirChip 3000 features a wide
temperature operating range as well
as an extensive set of configurable
settings and functions designed to
help the user achieve important
objectives such as:
- Maintaining
both the long-term accuracy and
reliability of the measurement
system
- Protecting
the process being measured
against a probe or sensor
failure
- Protecting
the devices connected to the
measuring instrument against a
probe or sensor failure
- Safeguarding
against accidental or malicious
actions by users
- Validating
the measurement loop after a new
installation or during routine
maintenance
The AirChip 3000
products are designed for compliance
with the GAMP and FDA regulations
regarding electronic records and
electronic signatures (ERES).

introduction of the AirChip 3000.
