SMART WATER METER Intelligent meters for water flow metering
Product Description The CZ2000 series smart water meters eliminate the need for gears and mobile parts (including magnetic drives) achieving a meter of great precision at low flow volumes and with minimal head loss. The smart water meters consist of an axial turbine facing the flow of water and supported on sapphire bushings and a tungsten shaft, which permits a clean rotation without friction and the total elimination of sub-metering effects caused by time and due to constant water hammers. In addition, the turbine is placed inside a casing made of deposition-proof material, which together with a straight pipe without twists or turns will prevent any kind of calcareous crustation. The smart water meters contain a completely smooth and leaktight tube, eliminating sealing gaskets, and any transmission element between dry and wet parts. This design makes the smart water meter’s resistance to low temperatures total. It also means that high working pressures do not affect the smart water meter’s normal operation. The smart water meter’s design of a turbine mounted on a shaft aligned with the water flow, enables the smart water meter to be installed in any position, horizontal, vertical, or in any inclination. The turbine has a similar density to that of water and is so light that even the smallest flow of water will make the turbine rotate and excite an electronic transducer (situated outside the pipe), which sends flow information to a microprocessor, where it is managed, stored and translated into the valuable statistical data that these smart water meters offer to the users. Reading the meter The smart water meter uses two ways to read the flow data stored on it. The digital display will show the water consumption, any abnormal water flow including the possibility of leaks in the pipe, detection of possible faults in the electronic circuit, and battery status. The batteries are large capacity lithium type, which should last more than 12 years depending on water consumption. The smart water meter can also be read electronically with a local PC or modem. Reading the smart water meter electronically will provide the serial number of the meter or meters read, the day and time when the last meter reading was made, the date and time of the current reading, the water registered by the meter at the last reading, the water registered by the meter at the current reading, the time the meter registered passage of water, the time the meter did not register passage of water, the time the meter was registering a consumption of an abnormally reduced water flow volume, the number of times the meter has registered passage of water, the battery state, and the number of meters being read. All this data is stored in the smart water meter’s memory, so there is no need for any auxiliary equipment. The information always stays in the memory being permanently updated. The information stored on the meter will show water consumptions that are statistically outside normal consumption. This information could be used to detect leaks and schedule follow up service or appointments with the client. Connecting to the meter The smart water meters have two ARJ-11 connectors, which is how the smart water meters communicates through a modem, to a laptop, to another system, and to other meters. Taking advantage of this capacity, the smart water meters can be joined together so that at one single point (the first or last meter or at a reading point) the user can extract totally error-free information up to 50 smart water meters both quickly and safely (with a multiplexer up to 400 meters). A telephone modem or GSM can be used at the reading point, the user will have access to all the information from each of the smart water meters from anywhere just by dialing that telephone number.
