Regardless of what field you are in, the amount of salt or solids (TDS) in water is important. Salt causes corrosion and leaves scale deposits which will damage industrial equipment. Too much salt can harm aquatic flora and fish and too little salt (conductivity) will prevent effective transfer of nutrients to the plant life. Salt is not desirable in your drinking water.

The DiST testers are reliable, pocket-sized instruments that will give you quick and accurate readings of conductivity and TDS. No need to match colors or use dropper bottles. Simply dip the tester and read the display. DiST 1 and DiST 2 give readings in ppm (parts per million of CaCO3), and DiST 3 and DiST 4 give readings in µS/cm (micro siemens).

Temperature effects your conductivity measurements by 2% per degree centigrade. Automatic Temperature Compensation assures that all readings are corrected to compensate for the effect of temperature. An LCD displays the digits clearly so they can be read at virtually any angle. If calibration is necessary simply submerge the electrode into calibration solution, and turn the trimmer at the back of the tester.

HI 8633 & HI 8733 Multi-Range Conductivity Meters for Laboratory Use

  • 4-Ring potentiometric method of measuring These meters use the proven 4-Ring method of measuring conductivity. This method is far more accurate and reliable than the common 2-ring amperometric method
  • Rugged Probe The probe and the sleeve are made in PVC with an external diameter of 20mm and length of 120mm
  • Four complete ranges HI 8633 / HI 8733 cover the full range of conductivity measurements
  • ATC with Adjustable ß The temperature coefficient is adjustable from 0 to 2.5% per °C.

HI 8633 and HI 8733 have been designed specifically for use in the areas of production and quality control. It is often necessary to test samples with different concentrations ranging from deionized water to brine. The amperometric system would require constant re-calibration and probe changes, thus making the measurement process very time consuming and unreliable. To solve this problem Hanna has developed the HI 8633 which uses a 4-Ring potentiometric probe. The rugged probes made in PVC, are ideal for indoor as well as outdoor measurements. By using one point calibration, it is now possible to obtain accurate readings across the entire range (0.1 to 199,900 µS/cm). If the temperature of the solution fluctuates, the HI 8733 with a built-in temperature sensor and Automatic Temperature Compensation, is the perfect instrument.

HI 8633 is supplied complete with an HI 76301 with 1m (3.3') cable.

Adverse weather conditions associated with use in the field, can damage a meter, rapidly deteriorating its performance and life. Due to these demands, Hanna Instruments has developed the HI 9033 to satisfy all field application needs. All conductivity readings, from deionized water to brine, are performed through the rugged 4-Ring potentiometric probe. This probe is so technologically advanced that it can measure any sample in any range of the meter without requiring re-calibration. BEPS (Battery Error Preventive System) will alert the user when low batteries could effect the readings. HI 9033 comes supplied complete with an HI 76302 conductivity probe and a rugged carrying case

The increasing demand for instant results of field analysis, without waiting for lab tests, has produced a growing necessity across the globe. On-site measurements in the field can subject the instrumentation being used to the inclemency of the weather. The cold, rain, snow and dust associated with use in the field, will damage the meter, rapidly deteriorating its performance and life. On the other hand, HI 9034 is a multi-range TDS meter that will meet the demands of all field applications. This instrument has three ranges that will accurately measure TDS in solutions ranging from water treatment to HVAC. All three ranges can be executed at the touch of a button without having to change the conductivity probe. This makes it very easy to switch applications without having to worry about probe changes and re-calibration. HI 9034 is supplied complete with the HI 76302 conductivity probe with 1m cable and a rugged carrying case.

HI 9039 Waterproof, Microprocessor, ATC Fertilizer Meter

  • Water-Resistant Housing HI 9039 will resist the ingress of water and dust to protect its advanced electronic circuitry
  • 4 Measurement Ranges This meter will measure conductivity from 0 to 9,999 µS/cm, temperature, and 2 different user selected fertilizers
  • 4-Ring Potentiometric Method Excels The proven 4-Ring potentiometric method is so technologically advanced that it renders the 2-ring Amperometric method obsolete

In the fields of agriculture and hydroponics, many different fertilizers are used on a daily basis. The fertilizer is dissolved in water, and then used for irrigation of crops. It is crucial to monitor the amount of fertilizer being fed to the flora. Because every fertilizer has a different conductivity value, it was impossible to monitor more than one fertilizer with the same meter without re-calibration. HI 9039 has solved this problem. The 4 range meter will measure 2 different types of fertilizer (F1 and F2), conductivity and temperature. To monitor the quality of the water used with the fertilizer, the conductivity must be checked. This aids in the selection of water to be mixed with fertilizer. To measure the fertilizer content, simply standardize the two different fertilizer ranges. To do this, dissolve one gram of fertilizer in one liter of water, immerse the probe, and press the CAL button. This will standardize the meter to read "1.00"g/l. Repeat this for the second fertilizer. It is now possible to monitor the two different fertilizers without re-calibrating or changing the probe. The large LCD aids the user through operation and calibration with large comprehensive symbols. In addition to displaying the selected range, the LCD will simultaneously display the temperature. The 4-Ring probe incorporates a temperature sensor that reads in the range of 0.0 to +50.0°C. HI 9039 comes supplied complete with an HI 76302 conductivity probe and a rugged carrying case.

HI 933100 Auto-Ranging Conductivity and ºC on Large LCD in Waterproof Casing

  • Dual Level LCD showing both the conductivity and the temperature
  • Wide Range From pure water to brine with one 4-ring probe
  • Automatic Temperature Compensation All measurements are compensated for the temperature effect at user-selectable coefficient from 0 to 3% /ºC
  • Automatic Calibration and Buffer Recognition made simple with a sophisticated custom built microchip

HI 933100 conductivity meter employs state-of-the-art design and electronics to provide you with accurate measurements of conductivity over a wide range. The large user-friendly display shows both conductivity and temperature at the same time. With its waterproof housing HI 933100 can be used indoors as well as outdoors, from heavy-duty industrial to environmental applications. The conductivity reading starts with pure water at 0.1µS/cm and automatically switches from one resolution to the next, reaching 199,900 µS/cm with only one probe! This is thanks to its sophisticated custom-built microchip and Hanna's exclusive 4-Ring probe with a built-in temperature sensor. The microprocessor has also made temperature compensated calibration as simple as A-B-C. Press "CAL" and then "BUF" to choose between 1,413 or 12,880 µS/cm buffers, place the probe in the solution and press "CFM" to complete the calibration. No need to look up values on conductivity/temperature charts or turn knobs and screws! User-friendly symbols also indicate when the solution is recognized and once the reading has stabilized. If you are working with samples that are acidic, alkaline or with high salt content, then the temperature coefficient will typically be around 1.5% and not the standard 2% per ºC. With HI 933100, you can simply set the appropriate value through the "FACTOR" key for optimum results. You can even calculate your solutions coefficient by setting the "FACTOR" to zero, a useful tool when working with unfamiliar samples. The display gives low battery warning and switches itself off after 10 minutes to save the batteries. For continuous monitoring, HI 933100 is supplied with a built-in 12VDC socket protected behind a waterproof cover.
