If you are using a complicated apparatus and/or methods in determining the sodium (Na)
content of your samples, you will find the Hanna line a pleasant relief. The Hanna sodium
line has been designed to be simple-to-use, durable, and very rugged.
pNa Sodium Pocket Meter
The pNa tester is a powerful tester for determining the water hardness/softness.
Compact size to fit into a lab coat pocket.
pNa The sodium ion selective glass electrode determines the activity of free
sodium ion concentration. The hardness of water is due to the presence of magnesium and
calcium salts. These salts make washing difficult and waste soap, they also create
unpleasant scum and scales. The hardness of water can be effectively treated and the pNa
tester will help you monitor this factor.
In the water softening process, the feed water is passed through a porous cation
exchange which has the ability of substituting sodium ions in the exchange medium with
calcium and magnesium in the water. The exchange medium may be natural sand known as
zeolite, or may be manufactured from organic resins. To control the treatment of feed
water through a zeolite system, the sodium content must be monitored on the inlet and the
outlet sections. The values are then compared, and the appropriate action is taken in the
process to treat the water.
Sodium concentration must also be monitored in food storage, production processes and
in ecological studies. The pNa tester is a fast, economical way to check this critical
parameter in these applications. Also, when the chemistry of a solution is known, such as
sodium hydroxide solution or a sodium hypochlorite solution, it is possible to correlate
pNa readings to concentrations of other chemicals in solution, giving the pNa utility in
many water chemistry applications.

SALINTEST Salinity Concentration Pocket Meter
SALINTEST comes supplied with a handy chart that will convert your sodium chloride
readings into grams.
Long Battery Life. 700 hours of continuous use assures trouble free testing for long
periods of time without frequent battery changes.
SALINTEST World-wide aquaculture has progressed immensely in the past two
decades. Aquaculture is a prime source for quality seafood and is a growing industry. As
the methods and products keep changing, one crucial factor remains the same; the salinity
of the water. The main component of salt in seawater is sodium chloride. The SALINTEST can
help you monitor the concentration of sodium chloride assuring high quality in
aquaculture. SALINTEST is also ideal for marine fish tanks and aquariums. Instruments for
measuring salinity of seawater currently available on the market are cumbersome and
difficult to use. Hanna has introduced a compact salt tester for accurately measuring the
concentration of sodium chloride. Besides applications in aquaculture, SALINTEST is also
ideal for checking salt concentrations of live storage for fish, refrigerator and
oceanographic investigation.

HI 931100 Waterproof NaCl Meter Salt Content
Measurements Made Simple
Wide-Range. Salt content from 0.15g/l to 300g/l with one meter & electrode!
Rugged Housing. All electronics are contained in a waterproof casing for the best
protection against humidity and condensation.
Large Display. Both NaCl and the temperature measurements are shown on a user-friendly
Liquid Crystal Display.
HI 931100 is an ion-selective meter which uses a sodium electrode to read
directly the salt (NaCl) content of a solution. There are 4 measurement ranges spanning a
wide spectrum from 0.150 g/l all the way to 300 g/l! A separate temperature probe provides
temperature readings in Centigrade from 0 to 80ºC in 0.1ºC steps. Both NaCl and ºC
measurements are shown simultaneously on a large LCD display. The meter is completely
water and dust-proof for the best protection in industrial environments and humid
conditions. All operations are microprocessor-controlled and calibration is easy and
automatic. Once the "CAL" key is pressed, graphic prompts appear on the display
to guide the user through the calibration process which is automatic at 2 points; the
first calibration point is at 58.4 g/l, while the second can be either at 5.8 or at 125
g/l. The range is chosen according to the sample to be measured. HI 931100 will turn
itself off after 10 minutes to save the batteries and provides a low battery indication on
the LCD. HI 931100 is supplied with carrying case without electrode.
