Nasco Swing Sampler
If you are collecting a sample from a
horizontal flowing stream, such as a sewer, the NASCO Swing Sampler is
just what you need!
• The end of the sampler
swings, allowing collection from different angles, including 90º.
• The 6-ft., 1.83 m fiberglass
pole extends to 12 ft., 3.66m and the 8-ft., 2.44m pole extends to 24
ft., 7.32m providing a long length for any sampling situation.
• Unit comes with a 960-ml
polyethylene bottle and the cover has a vinyl liner for leak-proof
protection. The bottle is attached to a polyurethane holder and is
held in place with a plastic snapper ring that has an adjustable
locking device. Other types of bottles may be used but a different
type of fastener may be required to hold the bottle in place.

Nasco
Sludge Nabber
|
|
The NASCO Sludge Nabber makes sample
collection of liquids fast and easy. It has an adjustable aluminum
pole that extends from 4 to 6½, feet, 1.22 to 1.99 m, making it easy
to reach the liquid to be sampled and carried. The Sludge Nabber is
ideally suited for numerous sampling requirements including chlorine
in solution. Sample bottles of various sizes (250 ml to 1000 ml) are
held in a polyurethane holder by a plastic snapper ring that has an
adjustable locking device. Whether testing for chlorine, BOD
(biochemical oxygen demand), or SS (suspended solids), the Sludge
Nabber's flexibility with holding various bottles, and its adjustable
length, allows for effortless sampling. Unit cornes with a 500-ml

The Sludge Judge® is designed to take
accurate readings of settled solids, 5% or less, in a variety of
liquids, to any depth. It is ideal for sewage treatment plants,
chemical plants, and food processing facilities - anywhere that
accurate sample levels of settled solids in noncaustic materials are
needed. The unit holds approximately 3 oz. per foot, 89 ml per 0.31 m.
The Sludge Judge® comes in 5 ft. 1.53m sections of 3/4", 1.90 cm
plastic pipe with screw-type connectors. The top section includes a
nylon line for raising and lowering the sampler. Individual sections
can be combined as required to achieve the length needed. Do not use
in liquids over 165ºF, 74ºC. A convenient cotton canvas carrying
case, that holds four sections, a cleaning brush, a new cleaning rod,
and cotton strips are available.
To use:

1 . Slowly lower the Sludge
Judge® to the bottom of the tank.

The float valve opens (see
picture A), allowing materials to flow in. When the bottom has
been reached and the pipe has filled to the surface level, tug
slightly on the rope as the unit is raised.

This sets the check valve (see
picture B) trapping the mixture inside.

When the unit has been raised
clear of the liquid, the amount of solids in the sample can be
read using the 1ft., 0.31 in increments marked on the pipe
sections.

To release the material in
the unit, touch the pin extending from the bottom section
against a hard surface. This opens the check valve to drain
the sample.

Nasco Cleaning Rod
For cleaning greasy residue from the Sluge Judge, this
cleaning rod is designed to make the job go quick and easy.
The 3/8", 0.93 cm solid aluminum two-piece rod screws
together giving 6 ft., 1.82m of length, and the slot on the
ends holds a thick cotton strip (sold separately) in place.
Slide the cloth up and down the tube using a mild detergent and
warm water. Sh. wt. 0.94lbs.

The Sludge
Judge®
II - Large
Capacity
The Sludge Judge® II is made from a 1¼",
3.18 cm outside diameter plastic tubing resulting in double the capacity
and a very rigid unit when assembled. It holds 6 oz. per foot, 178
ml/.31 m and can be assembled according to the requirements of the job.
Add or subtract sections as needed, and the 1 -ft., .31 m markers
on the tubing will help identify both the depth of the tank and the
amount of sludge on the bottom. The unit is made up of three 5-ft., 1.53
m sections (top, extension, bottom) or individual sections can be
combined as required. Cleaning brush listed below and carrying case
shown on the above can be used with this unit. This way the NEW
Nasco cleaning rod, and cotton strips listed below are designed for
cleaning greasy/oily residue from inside the tubing.

For maximum strength and
rigidity - use the Sludge Judge® Ultra! It is constructed of
extremely strong polycarbonate and treated with an ultraviolet
stabilizer to help reduce deterioration from the sun's harmful
rays. The mate rial is very rigid, minimizing bending of the
unit when it is full of water or other liquids. Durable in
cold temperatures; can withstand heat up to 280º F, 138º C
(with careful handling). The ¾" 1.9 cm diameter tubing
is marked with blue tape to designate 1 ft., .31 m
measurements on the tubing. Unit is made up of three 5-ft.,
1.53-m sections (top, extension, bottom). Individual sections
can be combined as required. The carrying case, cleaning
brush, NEW Nasco cleaning rod and cotton strips shown
on page 24 can be used with this unit. 1.42 kg.

Settleometer Kit
This kit is designed to
measure sludge settling characteristics. It includes a clear
plastic settleometer, wide mixing paddle, snap-on lid, and
complete instructions. Calibrated in percent and settled sludge
volume (SSV). Bright, white markings contrast vividly with dark
sludges, allowing easy-to-read interface. Yields information
which closely approximates settling ng in secondary y clarifiers
