When combined with the CO Sniffer®, the Bacharach Breath
Analysis Module provides a powerful tool for evaluating carbon monoxide exposure.
When a residential CO detector alarms, the usual procedure involves ventilating the area.
If CO was present, it quickly dissipates. However, individuals exposed to CO will continue
to expire it for hours, providing evidence of a real alarm.
The BAM attaches to the top of the CO Sniffer multi-purpose detector. The user exhales
into the mouthpiece inflating the balloon and in less than one minute, the sample is
analyzed with PPM CO displayed. A chart on the side of the module converts PPM CO to
percent carboxyhemoglobin (COHb).
