The Model 500T is
designed for a variety of temperature measuring applications. Excellent
accuracy and small size combine to make it the ideal choice for most
industrial temperature indications.
The 500T features
a unique 0.1° or 1° automatic resolution. For temperature measurements
below 1000°F, the instrument displays to a 0.1° resolution. With a
measurement more than 1000°F, the instrument automatically switches to
a 1° resolution. Thermocouple types R, S, and B only display in 1°
increments. For any applications where a 1° resolution is desired for
everything, the unit can be set to display only 1° increments
throughout its measuring range.
For ease of
installation, each instrument is supplied in a standard 1/8" DIN
1.9" x 3.8" (4.8cm x 9.6cm) plastic case and has
rear-accessible universal screw terminals. Large LEDs make temperature
readings easy to read. Power is derived from 115 or 230VAC. Power is
selectable via an internal slide switch.
Select among nine
temperature sensors of thermocouple types, J, K, T, E, R, S, and B or
100; 3-wire, Platinum RTDs,
either .00385 or .00392 alpha. Each of these nine are selected via a
miniature rotary switch located directly behind the snap-off front lens.
No calibration is required to switch between thermocouple types. Another
miniature DIP switch, also behind the lens, selects between F or C
display. Order Model 500T-10 (set for 115VAC); 500T-20 (set for 230VAC).
Alarm
Setpoint Option. The alarm option provides a single or dual
limit setpoint that can be set to any point, + or -, within the 500T's
measuring range. The user digitally selects the setpoint with two
buttons located on the front panel.
Selection of Hi or
Lo (single) alarm or Hi and Lo (dual) alarms is set via a
jump-jack located in the option card. Once the setpoint is set, it may
be reviewed for its actual value by pressing the View button. A front
panel LED illuminates red (single alarm) or red/yellow (dual alarm) when
the alarm trips.
The Alarm Setpoint
option card also includes one Form C, 0.5A relay (single alarm) or two
Form C, 0.5A relays (dual alarm) for hook-up to external lamps, buzzers,
or on/off control elements. Relay terminals are accessible at the rear
of the instrument and provide hook-up for Normally Open or Normally
Closed operation. Order Option -03 for single alarm and Option -04 for dual alarm.
Multiple
Inputs Option. The cost of measuring multiple temperature
sensors can be cut using the 500T's ability to switch between up to six
sensor inputs with its multi-input option. All input types contained in
the 500T (thermocouple or RTD) can be switched, but they must all be of
the same type (e.g., type K thermocouple).
A miniature rotary
switch, accessible at the front lens, allows convenient switching
between inputs. Sensor hook-up is a snap-on/off terminal block located
at the rear of the instrument. Order Option -20.

Model 500D
- Economical, User-Scalable, DC Input Indicator
mA and Volts
Selectable
Push Button
Digital Scaling and Offset -999 to 9999 Resolution
Featuring total
user flexibility for input and display, the Doric Model 500D may be the
last DC input indicator you'll ever have to specify. The scaling
flexibility with 4-digit resolution, high accuracy, small size, and low
cost makes the Model 500D the best value DC input indicator.
The 500D's
flexibility is unique. You can select between milliamp or voltage input
with a switch easily accessible behind the snap-off front lens. Full
scales are 0-20mA or 0-10V. These or any subset (e.g., 4-20mA, 1-5V,
200mV-2.5V, etc.) can be scaled.
Scaling and
calibrating the 500D to display engineering units from the DC input has
never been easier. Two simple push buttons conveniently located behind
the snap-off lens are used to set zero (Lo), full scale (Hi) and a
decimal point. The 500D can be scaled within its wide -999 to 9999
display count. The microprocessor-based design of the 500D provides
superior measurement stability, 1-digit repeatability, and 0.02%
accuracy. For ease of installation, each instrument is supplied in a
standard 1/8" DIN 1.9" X 3.8" (48mm X 96mm) plastic case
and has rear-accessible universal screw terminals. Large LEDs make
process readings easy to read, even from a distance. Power is derived
from 115 or 230VAC and is selectable via an internal slide switch.
Whether your
application is for straight DC measurement or process measurements from
DC transducers, transmitters, signal conditioners, or other
instrumentation, the 500D is the answer.
Model 500D
Options. The Model 500D accommodates either an alarm setpoint or
multiple input option. Additionally, a DC excitation supply can be
specified. Any of these options can be included at the time of initial
order or easily installed later in the field.
Alarm Setpoint.
The alarm option provides a single or dual limit setpoint that can be
set to any point, + or -, within the 500D's measuring range. The user
digitally selects the setpoint with two buttons located on the front
panel.
Multiple
Inputs. The cost of measuring multiple, like-scaled sensors can be
cut using the 500D's ability to switch between up to six inputs with its
multi-input option. Both input types (mA or Volt) can be switched but
cannot be mixed in a single unit. For example, all inputs 1-5VDC to
display 0-2750.
A miniature rotary
switch, accessible at the front lens, allows convenient switching
between inputs. Sensor hook-up is to snap-on/off terminal block located
at the rear of the instrument. Order Option -20.
DC Excitation
Supply. To directly power transmitters and transducers, a 500D or 500D
with Alarm Setpoint can be ordered with a built-in DC supply. This
option eliminates the cost and extra installation of more expensive
external supplies.
This supply
provides 30mA at 24VDC. In transducer applications which require a lower
voltage, instructions are provided to accomplish this with a
resistor/jumper change on the option board. Further, its design is
electrically floating, allowing it to be grounded anywhere.
The hook-up is
made at the rear screw terminal block making both 4-wire and 2-wire
configurations easy to wire. Order Option -09.
Series 500
Accessories. The Rack Adapter Plate permits easy mounting of 500
Series Indicators in standard 19" instrument racks. Four versions
are available for mounting 1, 2, 3, or 4 indicators.

Model 500G
- User-Scalable Strain-Gage & Load Cell Indicator
The Model 500G
features total user flexibility for strain-gage input, range, and
display. It is compatible with both bonded-foil type (2mV/V, 3mV/V,
4mV/V) transducers and higher output, semiconductor (10mV/V, 20mV/V,
30mV/V) type strain-gages. Combining this input flexibility with user
scaling, 4-digit display, small size, and low cost makes the Model 500G
the best value strain-gage and load cell indicator available.
The 500G's bright,
LED display provides excellent operator readability. Its microprocessor
design and ratiometric measuring circuit assure high accuracy with
superior repeatability.
The 500G includes
a built-in, 10VDC excitation supply to power the strain-gage transducer
to save you separate sourcing costs.
Scaling and
calibrating the 500G to display engineering units from the strain-gage
input have never been easier. Two simple push buttons conveniently
located behind the snap-off lens are used to set zero (Lo), full-scale
