Provides excellent isolation between AC to DC, higher efficiency and also
contributes to Smaller size and less weight
Hot Swap capability
Very low MTTR (less than 5 min. to replace the module without shutting down the
load) increased reliability.
Cascade redundant configuration adds to the reliability
Very high MTBF (power to the load) increased availability.
High efficiency
97% efficiency in off-line mode; 85% typical in on-line mode
High switching frequency
Eliminates the audible noise and transient response
Advanced microprocessor controller and status monitoring
Visual display, warning indicators
125% rated unit; 120% for 2kVA
Enables continuous loading of up to 1.25 kVA
Field selectable AC voltage: 100, 110, 115, 120, 200, 220, 230, 240
Field
selectable frequencies: 50 / 60 Hz
Selectable on-line / off-line
(Bypass) mode with static switch and overvoltage protection on both mode of operations.
Suitable for both 50 0r 60 Hz market
The unit can be used as an off-line unit to save
energy and the load is still protected from overvoltage events.
Maintenance bypass switch which enables the module to be Hot
Swappable
Easy draw-out module without interrupting the critical load.

Power-Invert S4
(3.5 - 21 kVA Scalable N+1 Inverter)
The Next Generation in AC Telecom Power
MGE's Power-Invert S4 N+1 scalable DC
to AC inverter is the latest addition to the Power-Invert line
recognized as the industry standard for critical AC power by many
of the world's leading telecom companies.
SCALABILITY: Scalable 3.5 kVA inverter power modules can be
stacked in a N+1 redundant configuration (paralleled for
redundancy or capacity) up to 21 kVA.
OPTIMUM AVAILABILITY: All modules are packaged into a
"hot swap" receiver cabinet with an integrated
maintenance bypass allowing rapid and safe exchange of any
component without interruption to the critical load.
NEBS STANDARDS: The S4 is one of the only inverters designed to
meet NEBS standards assuring compatibility with all devices in a telecom
environment.
RELIABILITY: Redundant microcontrollers feed control signals to
each inverter along a dedicated and isolated control line resulting in an
MTBF greater than 99 years.
TELECOM GRADE FILTERING: High-end power filters limit ripple
current on the DC bus to a negligible 32 dB, preventing micro-cycling of
the battery. EMI filters regulate conducted and radiated interference that
could potentially create noise disturbances. This high grade filtering is
unique to the S4 making it the best choice for telecom environments.
Advanced Features: Constructed
to NEBS /Telecom industry standards True Modular
Scalability: 3.5 kVA-21 kVA (3.5 kVA modules) - add modules as
your system grows Parallel for

The S4 is available with the following optional
accessories, all of which can be factory installed on an open frame relay
rack, providing a ready to install inverter system. Maintenance Bypass:
Safely and seamlessly transfers the output to an alternate AC source
(utility power or protected AC power from another inverter or UPS system)
allowing the inverter to be shut-down or removed without interrupting
power to the critical loads. The Maintenance Bypass assembly is factory
wired to the inverter module when ordered as a system.
AC Distribution Panel: The AC distribution panel accommodates 20
single pole breakers and is available in 120 and 240 VAC versions. 10 x
two pole breakers can be used if distribution alarm monitoring is
required.
Web Based Monitoring: The Falcon monitoring system (1.75" high
rack mounted) provides inverter, maintenance bypass and AC distribution
status and alarms over a closed network or via the Internet serving up web
pages that can be viewed with a standard browser or via SNMP or dial up
access. Accessories include environmental monitoring modules and auxiliary
inputs to monitor other devices such as leak detection systems, room
security or any other dry contact status points. Open Frame Relay
Rack: All components can be mounted on an industry standard open
frame relay rack with the entire inverter plant certified for zone 4
seismic installations.
Conduit Junction Boxes: (not required when mainstream bypass is
used) Larger inverter modules such as the 14 kVA through 21 kVA require
substantial cable gauges. The conduit junction box is factory mounted to
the back of the inverter module, easing conduit landing requirements and
simplifying installation of rear or side mounted cable entry systems.
