  Incorrect Input Warning
  All four meters have an incorrect input warning that indicates a test lead is plugged into a current jack, but the Function/Range switch is not set to make a current measurement. This is a safety feature to warn the user of possible misuse of the meter.

   

  Safety Test Leads
  Safety test leads have their probe tips shrouded with insulation to expose only 3.5mm of metal for probing. This allows you to safely make measure-ments in those dense component areas without causing shorts with long exposed test lead tips. Analog/Digital Display   The extra large liquid crystal display shows necessary user information for fast, easy operation; and the 4 digit, 10,000 count display provides added resolution. Special features are displayed along the top of the LCD and quickly indicate ON/OFF status. The 41 segment bar graph updates 20 times per second, which is good for peaking and pulling as well as indicating the presence of noise or undesired signals on an input.   Probe Hold™   Probe Hold automatically records a stable input signal and displays it from memory after the probes have been removed. A stable reading is acknowledged with a tone, then displayed in the LCD.   Auto Rel™ (Relative mode)   Auto Rel remembers an input and displays the difference of subsequent inputs. It remains in full autoranging mode for best resolution and widest possible input range. Also, it zeros out test lead resistance for increased accuracy of low ohm (0.01 resolution) measurements.   Auto MinMax™   Used as a simple data logging device, this feature records the maximum and minimum input levels. Through the MENU system, it will display the minimum, maximum, maximum minus the minimum, and two types of averages, true and rolling. Auto Min Max remains in the autoranging mode for the highest possible resolution. Competitive models that range lock severely limit the feature's usable range.   Fault Finder™ Intermittent Detector   Fault Finder emits a variable tone that responds quickly to changing inputs. Intermittents are quickly identified by a distinctive sound; this allows for very easy peaking and nulling of circuits and location of broken wires and intermittent connectors.   Peak Hold   Capture input levels as short as 1 ms with Peak Hold. Ideal for measuring events such as current surge and voltage spikes.     The Wavetek Meterman Heavy Duty Series 100 digital multimeters are designed for dependability under rugged industrial conditions. They are built of tough, fire-retardant thermoplastic, with all sensitive components shock-mounted. Waterproof construction prevents dirt, grime, and moisture from entering the case and causing inaccurate readings or damaging shorts.
    
    Dependability is enhanced by extra overload protection. All voltage ranges can withstand transients up to 3kV. Resistance ranges are protected to 600V and current ranges by a 2A/600V fuse and a 15A/600V high energy fuse.

    Featuring a compact, reliable design, the model 85XT has a large character, easy-to-read 4½ digit display. It offers high resolution and VDC accuracy of 0.05%. Model 85XT is True RMS measuring and will accurately display any AC signal, whatever its waveform and distortion. This feature is very useful for engineers and technicians working with signals that contain harmonics, such as switching power supplies and UPS.

     

    Model 85XT also measures frequency, in three ranges up to 200kHz, using the standard test leads. A Data Hold function keeps the last reading on the display, so the user can concentrate on good, safe contact with the test leads, then pull away to read the value on the meter. Diode test and continuity test with beeper are also standard.

    Model LCR55 is an inductance, capacitance, and resistance meter with 28 user ranges that measures a wide range of values. In the 20 ohms range, a zero adjustment knob allows to compensate for the test lead resistance. The LCR55 
    also tests diodes, including microwave diodes, and has slots for capacitor 
    plug-in as well as a dedicated test socket for transistor testing. 
    Optional accessories include H30 holster and VC231 softcase.
