Earth/Ground Resistance Clamp Testers

MEGGER OFFERS NEW COMPACT CLAMP-ON GROUND TESTER

Designed to measure earth/ground resistance and current flow in a way that will not disturb existing connections, the new compact Megger DET10C and DET20C ground testers utilize exclusive clamp-on technology to give users a quick, accurate measurement.  The unique design of these new Megger models induces a test current directly into the system and effectively updates the old methods of testing that may require disconnection or additional equipment.

This easy, remarkably fast clamp-on operation also assures users both convenience and safety -  a single point of measurement reads the earth/ground resistance and no disconnection means users can now test resistance in multiple loop installations with no additional risk.

Megger recognizes that users need extensive data storage and has equipped the DET20C with a RS-232 interface cable to download test data for further analysis.  Because the RS-232 interface cable is compatible with Megger Download manager Software, the user will be able to download the results back in the office instead of doing on on-site analysis.  The unit can accommodate up to 8180 records.

These high-quality instruments are ideal for testers who need to measure resistance and continuity of grounding loops around pads and buildings or to inspect and verify lightning protection systems.  They are also exemplary in measuring leakage current flowing to the ground or circulating in ground systems.  Their unique design makes them well-suited for use on cell towers, and all telecommunications sites as well as on consumer installations such as pools and spas.

To effectively do these jobs, the testers also feature a large jaw opening to easily accommodate cables, a hold function for difficult to reach installations and a large LCD display screen that can be read even in bright sunlight.  Both the DET10C and DET20C are equipped with configurable audible alarms.

MMC850

Multi-core AC digital clamp meter

DESCRIPTION

The NEW Megger MMC850 offers a unique solution to current measurement in multi-core cables, without theneed to split cores. Simply clamp the MMC850 to a multicore cable and read the current flowing. Conventional current clamp meters have been available for many years and are an accepted method of non-intrusive current measurement. However these instruments can only measure current in a single core cable, requiring multicore
cables to be split before a core can be measured.
Unlike conventional clamp meters, the MMC850 has a      complex array of Planer magnetic sensor coils to calculate the current flowing in the conductors of multicore cables with either 2 or 3 cores, and in either flat or round section cable, up to 100 A. The convenience and potential timesaving from using the multi-core clamp is considerable.

Single, two or three core cable measurement
Flat or round section cables
 No need to split wires
Cable centralising clamp
Backlit display
50Hz and 60Hz supplies

• Performs seven basic power measurements
• Clamp on for measurement, no need to break the circuit
• Optional software for logging or trend analysis
• True RMS, ac, dc and ac + dc
• Direct measurement of balanced 3-phase power

The Megger DCM1000P is an advanced clampmeter, giving true RMS readings of not only current and voltage, but of power quantities too. It measures ac and dc true RMS, giving accurate results even with distorted waveforms. Measurement can be made of power, apparent power, reactive power, and power factor, in single-phase and balanced three-phase systems with no need for additional adapters or calculations. Clamp-on power meters are the ideal hand-held instruments for use in the installation, maintenance, monitoring or checking of electrical systems and equipment.

As with all AVO products, the Power Clampmeter offers the high quality and precise measuring circuitry expected from the AVO name. Measurements can be taken regardless of waveform and up to a crest factor of 5. These unique instruments also measure power factor and frequency.

In addition to indicating the measurement on the large 3 1/2 digit LCD, each multimeter automatically displays the engineering unit (A, V, kW, etc.) of the quantity being measured and an indication of whether ac or dc, or a composite ac+dc signal.

An automatic power-off function helps extend battery life; low-battery indication is displayed when the time for replacement is near. Battery life is typically 12 hours continuous use.

MEGGER DCM300E

MEGGER DCM300E
Leakage Clampmeter

• 0.01 mA resolution
• EMC and EN1010-2-32 compliance
• 30 mA, 300 mA, 30 A and 300 A range

The DCM300E Earth Leakage Clamp designed primarily to check earth leakage currents with a dedicated 30 mA range providing resolution down to 10 µA. The capabilities of the DCM300E extend to measuring currents of up to 300 A ac, making it a highly versatile instrument capable of taking current measurements in a wide variety of situations and applications.

A typical application for the DCM300E would be the measurement of earth leakage current in a circuit where the GFCI repeatedly trips out. The measured result will quickly identify whether an excessive leakage current is causing the GFCI to trip, or if the GFCI itself is faulty. The DCM300E has 4 ranges: 30 mA, 300 mA, 30 A and 300 A with a best resolution of 0.01 mA. The analog-style bargraph of the DCM300E is very useful when monitoring changes, allowing the operator to easily interpret the rapidly changing bargraph rather than the digital display. Other key functions include the "Data Hold" feature which aids in measurements where there is a problem with accessibility or poor lighting, and the automatic power off feature that extends the battery life.

This clampmeter was also designed with safety in mind and exceeds the latest safety design standards IEC1010-2-32 and EMC requirements. Extra safety features have been designed into the DCM300E to provide a safer working environment for the user.
