Features:
- Highly accurate water velocity instrument for measuring flows in both open channels or partially filled pipes
- Lightweight, rugged, and reliable
- Consists of debris shedding Turbo-Prop, telesoping handle with staff guage, and computer with digital display in ft/sec or m/sec
- Turbo-Prop — most accurate positive displacement technology for velocity sensing, low maintenance, protected in 2 in. diameter housing, and can be placed directly on bottom of pipe or streambed for measuring low flows down to 2 in. deep; propeller rotates freely on bearing shaft with no mechanical interconnections for minimal friction; magnetic material in propeller tip passes pickup point in the handle to produce electrical impulses that are carried to the readout display by internal cable (Note: The computer should be recalibrated when the Turbo Prop is replaced)
- Rainproof Digital Water Velocity Computer — receives electrical impulse from propeller, amplifies signal, and converts to digital readout; large LCD displays MIN, MAX, and AVG readings; unique 4 button operation for changing functions and resetting display; powered by non-replaceable lithium battery
- Computer records up to 30 sets of data for later analysis
- Telescoping flow probe handle — constructed of anodized aluminum for long life and handling ease; FP211 14 ft allows measuring sewer flows from street level or streams from low bridges, FP311 2.5 ft. is ideal for carrying to remote locations;
- 3 ft. (1.7 ft for FP311) mylar coated staff gauge (graduated in hundredths of ft/cm attached to lower section of the probe handle for convenient, instant water depth measurements and a accurate propellor placement
- True Velocity Averaging — as long as turbo-prop is in water the computer averages the water velocity; measurements once/second and displays continuous average velocity; true average is obtained by slowly moving probe throughout the cross sectional area being measured; when reading becomes steady the highly accurate true average is obtained and can be saved at the press of a button
- Optional swivel head available to allow rotation to ± 90° for hard to measure vertical pipes or swimming pool drainage systems
- Optional alignment fin available to help orient the flow probe parallel to the direction of flow for measures where the probe cannot be seen because of the depth or cloudiness of the water
Applications:
- Ideal for measuring flows in streams, rivers, canals, stormwater, wastewater, inflow and infiltration studies, and industrial process waters
