The Megger MPAC 128 Acoustic Imager (1015-886) allows for the visualisation of hazardous and costly conditions from a safe distance. The MPAC 128 can detect and locate gas leaks and partial discharge threats before failures happen. Using 128 MEM microphone sensors, the MPAC128 can detect emissions quickly and clearly to visualise gas, pressure and vacuum leaks and electrical partial discharge safely from up to 120 metres away.
With a simple operation, thanks to the intuitive user interface and only two parameters to be set, the MPAC128 can provide leak rate quantification for cost estimations to be produced and Phase Resolved Partial Discharge (PRPD) for discrimination between different types of partial discharge. The focus function of there imager reduces any unwanted noise in loud and noisy conditions with the ability to convert ultrasonic monitoring sounds to audible sounds for pinpointing leaks.
With a leak detection rate of 1m 7bar 0.37 ml/s and 10m 7 bar 0.7ml/s with measurements taking on the 8megapixel optical camera resolution, and results shown on the 7 inch capacitive touch screen that has a 1024 x 600 display resolution.
The MPAC128 is IP54 rated with an operating temperature ranging from -20 to 50 degrees so can be used in extreme working environments safely. The MPAC128 has an 8GB internal storage that allows for images (JPG), audio (WAV) and up to 5 minute videos (mp4) to be stored on the device. The microSD card and USB-C memory stick allow for digital files to be exported.
The MPAC128 has a frequency band of 2kHz to 48kHz and a user adjustable dynamic range of 0.5dB to 12dB. The imager boasts a Field of View (FOV) of 62º horizontal and 48º vertically with a nominal frame rate of 25 fps (min) meaning the image on screen is refreshed 25 times per second.
Battery powered by a 6600 maH, 7.2 V recharge Li-ion battery, the MPAC128 has a battery life of up to four hours under full state load. User selectable Sleep/Auto power off function help to preserve the battery life when not in use. Ensuring the MPAC 128 is always up to date is easy thanks to the firmware being updated via the USB-C memory stick or microSD card. Free Acoustic Analysis Software is also available from Megger.
