The TC-3000 Thermal Cycler is unrivalled as a reliable low cost personalcycler. Designed for research and teaching, the TC-3000 offers the ultimate in low cost solutions where ease of use is high on the priority list. It has numerous applications in Molecular Biology and Diagnostic laboratories and is suitable for use with diagnostic kits.
It has been designed for the individual; priced to be inexpensive enough so anyone can own one. The TC-3000’s high speed allows a typical 30 cycle program to be completed in around 1 hour, enabling the operator to complete more work in a day.
Using advanced peltier technology, the TC-3000 is capable of heating/cooling rates better than 2.0 – 3.0°
C/second (average cooling and heating) and using a high tolerance thermistor sensor to give a temperature stability of ±
0.1°
C and a block uniformity of ±
0.5°
C.
One of TC-3000’s many features is incremental/decremental segment hold time. This allows the user to increase or decrease the hold time of a given segment hold with each cycle. Use incrementally on ‘extension’ for techniques such as Long DNA and RAPD to allow sufficient time for the increasing quantity of DNA to extend. Use decremental feature on ‘denaturation’ to allow initial highly specific denaturation and then less time with each cycle at 95°
C so as to maintain the enzyme’s (taq)half-life
