| The NLS is designed for use in high viscosity liquids. For example, the NLS is used for low level detection of grease in the storage drum of a lubrication pump which pumps large volumes at high pressure. It is modified to overcome the high viscosity by making the tip of the detecting pipe larger than usual. The tip of the detecting pipe is also cut at a slant to prevent the pipe from clogging. On an ocean liner sewage disposal system, on board sewage is collected in a tank to purify it for reclamation. The NLS detects the purified sewage level and then discharges it to the sea or recycles it to flush the ships toilets. |
