BarometricPressure Sensors Product Description
Global Water’s highlyaccurate Barometric Pressure Sensor covers a pressure range from 800 to 1100 mb. The barometric pressure transmitter is fully temperature compensated within anoperating range of -40° to 65° C. The barometric pressure sensors areattached to 25 of marine grade cable, with lengths up to 500 availableupon request. The barometric pressure transmitter’s output is 4-20 mA witha two wire configuration.
Global Water’s PC300 Barometric Pressure Meter and Controller uses thebarometric pressure transmitter’s output to trigger alarms. In addition,Global Water offers the GL500 Barometric Pressure Recorder, which adds recordingcapabilities to the barometric pressure transmitter. The GL500 BarometricPressure Recorder connects to the barometric pressure sensor’s 4-20mA output torecord data.
Why Measure Barometric Pressure?
One important parameter in monitoring weather systems is barometric pressure. Changes read by a barometric pressure meter or transmitter indicate weatherfront movement. Most weather stations include a barometric pressure sensoras one parameter they monitor. Barometric pressure transmitters are alsoused for many other applications including ocean buoys, ships, checking engineperformance, airports, and many more.
A major use for barometric pressure sensors is related to determining surfaceand ground water level readings. For more information on this please go toour water levelinformation page.
